Trees: Awakening is a handmade book that aims to inspire thoughts through sensory reading experience, to develop a positive attitude for nature by understanding a tree. Reinterpreting Chinese characters in a typographic design with textured papers communicate how trees sustain its life.

Our design interventions highlight the book’s materiality and structure, all can be seen and felt with the quality of papers, smooth, rough, thick, thin when readers interact with various kinds of design elements throughout the book that arouse feelings and emotions, and leave readers’ an important message.
